Overall Score : 3.0 / 5.0

Error Nuker form Trek Blue is an often used registry repair program, although it is perhaps not as well known as some of its rivals. As a popular registry cleaner we decided that it was well worth a test, as such we purchased a copy and set about using it.

Testing Error Nuker

Error Nuker was very quick when it came to scanning through the Windows registry, and it also seemed to be very thorough, as it identified 237 registry problems. These problems were also quickly removed by Error Nuker.

When the repair is in operation, Error Nuker also comes with an option that any repair can be undone, in case of a mistake being made. Error Nuker though does claim that there will not be any mistakes, as its design prevents vital registry entries from being removed.

Error Nuker Features

There is nothing too groundbreaking when it comes to the features included in the Error Nuker program. There is a standard Windows Start-up Manager, which allows for the disabling of programs during the start-up process. This will allow Windows to start-up much more quickly and can improve the whole performance of the machine. Care though does need to be taken when choosing which programs to disable, as some like antivirus programs may be vital to the safe operation of the machine.

Additional features also include a Scheduler, which can set up future scans without the need for a user to manual start a scan. Error Nuker can also check the internet for any updates to its programming.

The Downside

There are a few drawbacks with Error Nuker, one thing we feel is vital is the need to see all errors identified in the life of the program. Additionally Error Nuker will remaining running in the background unless closed via the toolbar, this we feel is something that is not required from a registry repair program.

Overall Marks

  • Simplicity – 3.0/5.0
Error Nuker is very easy to use although navigation wise it does take a little getting used to. Those who require assistance will have to go looking for it from the internet, rather than having the information within the program.
  • Thoroughness – 3.5/5.0
Error Nuker went about its work very quickly and identified 237 errors within our registry. We would have liked a total counter though to make it clear for the life of the program.
  • Features and Functions – 2.5/5.0
Feature wise Error Nuker is a let down as it only includes the real basics that you would expect from a registry repair program, the only plus was the inclusion of the Windows Start-Up management feature.
  • Support – 3.5/5.0
There is around the clock support from an online helpdesk which is a bonus but again nothing special.
  • The Final Score – 3.0/5.0
Error Nuker does what you would expect; it scans and repairs a Windows registry. There are though many better programs available for the same or similar price. If you are looking for a good registry repair program we would only suggest choosing RegCure from ParetoLogic, for a much better all around performance.
