Rundll32 has stopped working
A relatively common Windows registry error for Vista users
is the rundll32 error. It is associated the registry issues
linking to .dll files, and is commonly caused by problems with
videos and movie files within folders. The error is often
caused by issues with the video codecs, codecs like Nero,
although there are other causes.
A manual fix can be undertaken by a computer owner which is
fairly straightforward and involves the following steps –
- My Computer >> Main Drive >> Program Files
>> Common Files >> Ahead >> DSfilter
- Once there NeroVideoProc.ax needs to be renamed
1NeroVideoProc.ax, and NeVideo.ax needs to read
1NeVideo.ax.
- Following this the computer needs to be restarted and
the problem should be resolved.
